It’s just around 3 minutes’ walking from the Basel SBB station. But the hotel is in the residential district and it’s rather quiet at night (in positive sense, good for sleeping). One can take the tram No.16 (station just outside the hotel) to the City Centre (Rathaus and Marktplatz) for sightseeing and foods. Staff is available at the reception and on the phone for 24 hours, speaking good English and are very friendly. Luggages can be stored at the hotel during the pre-Check in and some hours after Check out time. The room is small but for just one or two nights’ stay, it’s good enough. Water temperature and water pressure for shower are good. There is also a hair dryer in the bathroom though a bit of old style. As the plug standard in Switzerland is different from Germany, etc., it’s nice that one can borrow an adapter from the reception at the deposit of CHF30 (get back when the same is returned).

A very modern hotel room, nicely furnished with a small but adequate storage unit for clothes, (hanging space and shelves), desk and bedside tables. Very nice ensuite bathroom with adequate space to put toiletries, etc and a good hair dryer. I understood there would be a kettle in the room but there was none. However, when I asked about this at reception, I was provided with one on leaving a deposit, which was returned at the end of my stay. Very good breakfast with a good range of food. Location was excellent. Easy to walk there from the station and a tram went from right outside the hotel to the centre of Basel. Very easy to get around. I was able to watch BBC and ITV on the television. Staff friendly and helpful.

We recently spent one night here. We arrived at the SBB train station, by bus from the airport, the hotel was a short walk from the station. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable, with a nice shower. Breakfast was plentiful with plenty of variety, a good start to the day. There are planty of places to eat round about, if you are there in time I can recommend the Markthalle (www.altemarkthalle.ch). It has numerous stalls serving cuisine from all over the world, all you have to do is choose.....it may take a while to decide as there so many.

It was my 2nd time there; happy again! (The other it coincided with by birthday, the receptioninst noticed and offered me a cold beer and best wishes) Very friendly and efficient staff, very comfortable mattress, spacious shower cabin. The buffet breakfast is small in appeareance but it has everything! I really appreciated the staff from the kitchen that comes out every now and then to replenish the buffet: they smile and say a warm hearted "good morning". Also: they already have in the room, nicely packaged, an extra blanket and an extra pillow. Bath soap smells good!

Reception staff was enthusiastic and helpful. Our room worked well for us. It was clean and had all we needed. Location was perfect. It was 5 minutes walking from the train station. There was also a free bus to the airport at the train station. We felt very safe walking there at 5:00am. This bus runs an incredible number of trips each day of the week back and forth from the Europort. Although compact rooms. It was all we needed. Least expensive hotel we had in more than a week in Switzerland. I would stay there again.
